Learn how to make homemade chocolate caramel turtles for the perfect Christmas and holiday snack.

The candy known as “turtles” or “chocolate caramel turtles” is considered a household name for most people. Even though some may have never tried the “witty named” treat…most have heard of the tasty snack.

The recipe for “turtles” is yet another holiday favorite that can be a real treat for the kids not only to eat…but to prepare. Like many holiday recipes, the generic or standard recipe is present below, but depending on personal tastes or simply personal recipe desires, many ingredients can be added or taken away at will.

The obvious delight of homemade “turtles” is not only the luxury of preparing a personal and possibly unique version of the famous candy recipe, but the simple luxury of saving money. Depending on the type, brand, and quantity purchased, candy and desserts for the holidays can be very expensive over the course of several weeks of holiday festivities.

In respect to the candy in question, the shopping outlet and establishment an individual frequents can cause the price of “turtles” to be a touch expensive, in respect to buying in “bulk” for the holiday season. For many people, the idea of spending even the slightest amount on candy for the holidays is not very appealing.

Like many homemade candies and desserts during the holiday season, chocolate caramel turtles also make great holiday “grab bag” gifts at Christmas parties. Not only can “turtles” be prepared for the family, but also friends, neighbors, and the aforementioned Christmas party or holiday function.
